Quizlet is popular website for creating study guides. Teachers can add terms, definitions, images and audio recordings to a “study set” around a particular topic. Students can then choose to review the material through flash cards, practice exams, or even through games.
Quizlet recently added a new application, Quizlet Live, to its highly popular product line. In a nutshell, Quizlet live is an in class game where randomly assigned teams of 3-4 students race against each other to answer review questions. Students must work collaboratively in order to “clear their board” without making a mistake. One wrong answer results in the whole team starting over so team work is essential for success.
I’ve seen this game first hand on several occasions in the high school classrooms in my district. The students love it! It turns the traditional review or study session into an engaging, fun activity for everyone.
